Lowered VW Voyage for your time
I don’t really have anything against stance or any other type of modification, but there’s something that has been bothering lately about this subculture. Why is it that people stance S2000s, 240SXs and good handling cars if the whole point is to go low? Maybe it’s just my love for modified everyday/weird cars (hence my love for Donks, Bubbles and Boxes) but seeing an unexpected car stanced just seems so much cooler. Examples, just because I can:
Eh, I suppose it turned into a mini rant, but whatever. I still like stance overall.
What do you think about regular cars stanced oppo?

Fuck all stanced cars, but fuck the ones that are supposed to handle well in particular.

Lowering a car so that it drags the ground looks silly to my eyes, as does screwing up the camber so the car is riding in the inner edges of its tires. That said, they aren’t my cars so who am I to judge?

As a motorcyclist and a runner, fuck this shit.
I have a hard enough time dodging all the distracted drivers without dealing with people who make make their cars harder to control and have much longer stopping distances for looks.

Why by a good looking running shoe just to wear it to work?
People do what they like. I think stance is stupid and I don’t really respect it, but it’s not like they bought the cars because they handle well

I personally don’t like the look of stance. But that’s an aesthetic opinion, and to each his own. The problem I have with it is that it usually objectively impairs the functionality and/or safety of the car. For example, the cars you posted above would all suffer bumper or undercarriage damage if they encountered a speed bump or pothole. If a mod works against the purpose of the machine, then I am against it.

Lowering is OK. Any major changes to suspension alignment are dangerous and stupid.

Yup, the sedan version of the VW Gol. Sold in the US as the VW Fox. They made them from 1981 to 1995 and then again starting in 2008.

People always say that, and they are absolutely right, but I never really see stanced cars in “real life”, so this aspect doesn’t bother me too much.

I’ve seen them driving around here, but the videos we all see of meets with these cars is when I see the damage they take.

Easy fella. It’s cool not to like something, but you’re gonna have a stroke.

If its on air bags, sure. Keep it low when parked, but raised for normal driving. If it static, get it out.

Damn right you can judge. We often share the road with these mouth breathing bros and them modifying their car that comprises handling and the safety of drivers around them allows me to judge and shit on their fad all I want.

Not a fan.
But do what you want with your car. For people saying they’re dangerous, i’d say there are a lot of other things people do to their cars that are way way more dangerous, but that are less immediately visible to bystanders. Stance gets a disproportionate amount of hate IMHO. Think about all the people driving around with brakes that are badly in need work. At least someone driving a stanced car is probably paying attention. If they dont, any potholes could get expensive real quick.
